"I joined BAH in Jul 2008 and was immediately impressed with how they supported their employees. Above industry standard benefits/401K contributions and most impressive to me, tremendous support transitioning between contracts. Instead of just letting folks go, they worked hard to find everyone jobs within the firm. I saw this in my first weeks with them for another team, then again when our contract ended last Sept."

"The company hires very good candidates and reimburses them for trainings and certifications. They have a flexible work policy and is good for work life balance in my opinion. Keeps everyone informed of the company happenings by different channels."

"Be well prepared for up to three interviews or more, and make sure you know your information and skills very well."

"The assessment process is sometimes a drag, but it helps in improving the company and understanding everyone's perspective of the different jobs."

"I think the company should diversify more outside government contracts."

"The company culture is one of continual growth, it is not an organization for a person to just exist and stay stagnant."

"The assessment program. Associates are required to perform assessment on other employees and this is a very tedious process on top of your requirements to your various clients."

"Managers vary at this organization like any other organization. Some are good and some are not, so I do not have any advice."

"I liked getting the job at Booz Allen because the economy is bad and I need a job."

"It's only for the super motivated, the super connected, and those who want to work more than see their family."

"Management is inconsistent with what they actually value; sometimes talking out of both sides of their mouths, especially at the lower levels of management."

"The company culture changed when the company became public. The company didn't change business models which may cause difficulties for employees requiring clearances."

"Review organizational models to determine appropriate fit with current clients."

"The compensation packages are higher than most other government contractors, and it's well-deserved! I worked with experienced, amazingly brilliant, innovative people, unlike the barely-graduated, Freddy-fly-by-nights typical of companies like SAIC. When I worked for BAH, the focus was on hiring an employee to be developed, not just used for one contract gig and tossed aside. Lots of opportunities for professional development, and the employee review system is fair."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be aware that you're getting into a company that, while handsome in its compensation package, will demand a LOT of you outside of your billable hours. They really do expect you to socialize, go for drinks, golf, participate in community events and those mandatory fun picnics. You're also expected to participate in employee organizations, do more education and continued training, whether you need it or have time or not. For all BAH touts its work-life balance, there isn't much room for the life part."

What don't you like about working at Booz Allen Hamilton?

"The culture at regional offices, particularly those in the public sector division, is not healthy. A plethora of retired military good ol' boys makes the work environment downright hostile to women, LGBT people, and anyone not an arch-conservative. If you work here and you're not a straight, white, nominally Christian male with a Republican voter registration, be prepared to shut up, nod, and kiss a lot of ass, particularly if you're client-site based rather than at the home office."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop worrying so much about appearances and focus on substance."

What do you like about working at Booz Allen Hamilton?

"The people I work with are exceptional and very easy to work with in a team."

"Great company to work for if you have a solid contract, but can be very shaky if you contracts are not managed well and you have to move around frequently."

What don't you like about working at Booz Allen Hamilton?

"Contracts seem hard to find as the government has started to reign in their budget. So this means I now have to commute longer trips."

"Just be open when things look bad; it just makes it worse when you are the last to know."
