"Symantec is a great place to work if you find a job that you are comfortable and passionate about. There is a lot of politics and everything is constantly changing, so if you are afraid of change then you might have a hard time. Personally, I like change and the company treats its employees well."

"4.0 took a toll on many good employees at Symantec. With most new CEO's they make change; some good and some not so good. My senior management was removed which was a clue that big changes were coming. I strongly enjoyed the work and the work details still need to get performed. Symantec started into the appliance space taking on EMC, this is the area of the company to join. A number of my former peers have since left Symantec on there own after the lay-offs. HR must be a busy place."

"I am working with Symantec since 2 and a half years. It is well known company in computer security domain and follows strong work ethics. I would like to recommend this company to friends. Though as a company Symantec is doing well, your individual progress will vary from team to team. Managers have good authority to decide."

"I have found this company to be very interesting to work for, they have an amazing team and outlook onto the future market, the downside is that it has been really slow to get that vision to market so you are left with a bunch of above average products to work with."

"I've worked for Symantec since 2011. It is an excellent company who focuses on mobile data collection, distributed storage and data mining. In recent years, I have enhanced my professional skills there."

"Learned a lot, but also feel like I wasted a lot of time doing mundane tasks. Just happy to have a good paying job in the computer technology field. Overall grateful for the position. The biggest complaint is I was laid off very suddenly. Would be nice to know it's coming, or possible, and also tell me what I can do to prevent that from happening to me, if possible. My life was suddenly sideswiped by my layoff. Traumatic experience indeed."

"Symantec is a progressive organization that is under a major transition and reorganization. Currently experiencing pain from organizational change. There is a lot uncertainty from leadership churn and lack of operational consistency. The future hold many challenges for Symantec."

"Symantec was a good company to work for in the early part of the last decade. However the current executive turnover has created an unsupported feel in the work environment. As an employee has no idea what the current regime will do or where they plan to go. I work for the IT department and we were outsourced to HP which led to severe business customer dissatisfaction and ultimately to an end of the relationship."

"The work for Symantec is exciting, but sometimes limited in scope and function. Sometimes this can cause redundancy and repetitive tasks that become mundane."
