What do you like about working at Charter Communications?

"I enjoy the variety and direct customer interaction on a daily basis. I enjoy sitting in an air conditioned building and making a good wage for what I do."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure that your answers are customer focused, the technical stuff they will teach you."

What don't you like about working at Charter Communications?

"I do not like how petty some of the managers are. I do not like that in order to be promoted you have to be in a certain range of intelligence so as not to upset the balance of incompetence at the manager lever. I do not like be passed over for promotion so that less qualified individuals can be promoted in order to build a certain dynamic also known as favoritism. I do not like being handed canned responses or feedback when asked why I was not promoted, I do not like being told I am doing fine but then the next week being told that I'm not doing fine."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Create a clear understanding of metrics for all employees. Get rid of the managers who are afraid that a competent person will call them out for not A) doing their job, and B) not knowing how to do their job. Get rid of lazy workers. I actually like that you have started using the supervisors to do the initial hiring interviews, that was a great move."
