"I have worked at GM for over 2 years now. The work environment is fantastic . There is a lot of opportunity to learn and grow as a developer. Additionally, there are really smart and friendly people to work with. But on the individual basis there is a lot of stiff competition to get a promotion."

What don't you like about working at General Motors?

"I dislike the long hours. Vacations are frowned upon, and upper management has no ability to counsel employees to help improve them. If they think you're not cutting it, then you're terminated without cause or counsel."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Help your employees become better workers. Don't just discard them if they are not performing as you want. This will increase employee morale and loyalty. This will also save lost revenue, time, and expense of hiring and training replacements."
