"We worked a 12 hour shift which I enjoyed. There was overtime available most of the time. I enjoy maintenance work and machinery design."

"You will need a strong skill set in maintenance and a very strong safety record. You must be a team player."

"I enjoyed all of the work that was assigned to me. The work was challenging and allowed me to make use of some of my creative design ideas. Many of these are still in use and running production."

"Continue to reward employees for cost saving ideas and ideas that increase production. This truly improves morale."

"The union and management worked well together. The machinery was well maintained and housekeeping was good."

"All people do not interview well. Management needs to look at accomplishments in one's career when making hiring decisions. College graduates do not make the best supervisors if they have never worked on the machinery or in a production environment. I would come back if asked."

What don't you like about working at International Paper?

"As a swing shift supervisor it was difficult working with upper management from days. Training was ok but could be communicated better with explanation of the processes. Time and personnel are always an issue as you try to train."

"Upper management needs to work better with each other, the plants will operate better if they work as a team instead of back stabbing each other for their own gains."
