"I've worked at Lowe's for almost 4 years and would recommend Lowe's as a great place to work. First 2 years were hard working part time but I stuck it out and proved to my managers how much that Lowe's meant to my family by doing everything I could to help the customers while bringing multiple sales for the local store. Satisfying customer needs and helping with their dreams is my passion."

What do you like about working at Lowe's?

"I enjoyed the people I worked with and the freedom to do my job effectively."

HR Manager

What do you like about working at Lowe's?

"Lowe's is a solid company, conservatively managed, and relatively stable."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure you show your love of retail, and show enthusiasm for sales and customer service. Be ready to be tasked with short notice and for program of the month."

What don't you like about working at Lowe's?

"I don't like the retail schedule and calendar. It is low pay for the work expected. The environment is drab. There are not enough true professionals with intellectual skill sets. There is too much going on, and too many programs."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Lowe's is too concerned about compliance with programs instead of quality of doing less really well. Raise salaries for HR Managers. The workload has increased as well as responsibility significantly in the last year."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get on the same page before issuing policies and mandates. Lowe's was great when there were fewer stores and fewer upper management level positions (district, regional levels). Employees were valued more."

What do you like about working at Lowe's?

"I like the home improvement environment, and associating with and helping employees better service the customer."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't ask how much you're going to be paid and wait for the time that they're ready to hire you. Quite candidly however, Lowe's is reducing managers and could soon be closing some of its stores nationwide."

What don't you like about working at Lowe's?

"I don't like the work hours and schedule at Lowe's."

What do you like about working at Lowe's?

"I liked the people whom you work with at Lowe's, day in and day out."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Look elsewhere. They are in a major transition/restructure phase within the stores right now. Don't get caught up in the mess."

What don't you like about working at Lowe's?

"Where do I begin... I dislike the scheduling that makes no sense, the in club that you have to be a part of to make it, the shady practices of the store manager and above, and the lack of direction from the CEO down."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get a clue as to how to run the business, and be proactive and not reactive. Innovate... don't take another retailer's ideas and expand on them. Be a leader in the industry and not a follower."
