"excellent company to work ."
"It is a decent place to start a career. However, there is little room to advance and training is sparse. Very top down with a "Because we said so" attitude. HR would rather pay settlements than discipline senior managers. Be prepared for 70-80 weeks and dialing in on vacation. Hardly anyone made goal this sales year and we are up for IPO, Lots of Monday morning quarterbacking and backbiting among people above me."
"The best company! Nice work place and benefits."
"I've worked for MHE for 6 years. They are a good company that means well."
"I found this company in Dice portal."
"Very good company and I learn a lot and more experience."
"Innovative educational technology company that is evolving quickly but still has a lot of bureaucracy."
"Worked there for only a year as a temporary employee. The environment is fast paced and they really appreciate self efficient workers in the office. Great people to work with but maybe not many opportunities to move ahead."
"The company is going through some changes and is trying to rein in control of an SDLC gone haywire. That said, it's difficult to get things done at times. Too much separation."
"Worked there a short time. Very strict environment as far as hours, breaks, and noise levels go."
"McGraw-Hill has more than one location in NJ, NY."
"I have worked for McGraw Hill Education since 2006. I have found it to be a strong company with good ethical values and mission to move education to the digital world."
"I've worked for McGraw-Hill for almost a year, and so far have had a great time learning, growing and making awesome acquaintances and friends. The working environment is flexible and I'm able to do my work quietly without someone constantly looking over my shoulder. Recent company changes have created an unstable environment, though, and that creates some discomfort for employees. Corporate politics also sometimes play a role in the way work gets done here."
"I have been with McGraw Hill Education for the last seven years. I really enjoy my work place, my co-workers and theskills, knowledge and experience I have gained are very valuable to me."
"It was an excellent learning experience."
What do you like about working at McGraw-Hill?
"The scope of the projects that I worked on. I was given a lot of differing assignments so that I could see different sides of the business and the different ways to go about each."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be honest. It is a very open environment, and everyone's opinion is respected."
What don't you like about working at McGraw-Hill?
"Being on both the purchasing and distributing end of the text book industry put a sour taste in my mouth. I liked the people there, but I didn't like the way there product was set up. It shouldn't cost a kid 100 dollars for a geography book."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would suggest to have some more standards in the internship programs. I was forced many times to choose between which managers' projects I would complete first. I felt like I was caught in the middle of two sides."
