"As a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks, I was responsible for overseeing a team of baristas and ensuring that daily operations were running smoothly. The salary for this position was fair, and I appreciated the opportunities for professional growth and development that Starbucks provided. Overall, I would give Starbucks a rating of 3.5 out of 5."

"Working as a barista at Starbucks can be a mixed bag. On one hand, the work is relatively easy, and the environment is friendly. However, the pay is not great, and the hours can be long. Additionally, there is not much room for advancement."

"Terrible store, worked there for a while. Management is terrible, hours are unevenly distributed and irregular. Partners are not trained properly and the promotion process is completely wrong. Drink prep is completely different every time and the drive through is ridiculously slow. Partner drama is THROUGH THE ROOF, people get let go for rumors of dating and false accusations, sexual harassment between partners and between shift leads and partners goes COMPLETELY unnoticed for months, shift leads abuse power and have serious favoritism. I would NOT recommend working at this store, it needs to be shut down until baristas can be retrained not only in the food/drink department, but also in the ethics department. Working here is the biggest emotional rollercoaster you’ll ever experience. HIGHLY do not recommend."

"Oh boy, okay. The first few months are great. It’s fun, exciting, and you think you’ll have a blast. However, after the first few months you start to realize how truly awful it is to work in this environment. The management is beyond awful, you are treated extremely unfairly and you are paid extremely unfairly for the amount of work you do and the stress you go through. The only perks of this job are the benefits and the free coffee, that is it. Management plays favorites, believes with all their heart they are better than every single other employee and isn’t afraid to “subtly“ show it. The scheduling is a complete nightmare, you are purposely scheduled 5.75 hour shifts so that they aren’t required to give you a lunch, yet you’ll end up staying 6 hours anyway. One week you will be working 37 hours and the next week you work 10. You barely have any say in that and although the store is grotesquely understaffed on some days, they won’t give you more hours. Yet when you have more than enough people to work on another day, management won’t let you have that day off. Management only cares about one thing and that is how fast their employees work because the faster we are the bigger their paycheck. You are treated with the utmost disrespect and sometimes you are even spoken down to as if you are mentally slow. Management thinks that just because they’re above everybody else in terms of work-related power, that somehow that gives them the right to be entitled and talk down to the people below them. I have never been more miserable at a job in my life, let alone a job that I normally would love. If you’re looking for a part-time or full-time (whatever they want to give you) job that will only last a few short months, it’s a fun place to work. Just don’t stay too long or you’ll realize how soul crushing this job really is. PROS: • fun coworkers and some loyal customers • free drinks/food during your shift CONS: • literally every other aspect"

"It is very unfortunate I have to write this however for the benefit of other potential employees it is important to know the type of environment you are walking into. Additionally for customers, you should know some of the awful things partners endure on a daily basis that you probably aren’t aware of but that the company are completely ok with and that your money is going to keep supporting that behavior. I worked for Starbucks for 9 months and almost from the onset experienced a consistently negative and toxic workplace. I was intimidated and bullied daily but most severely by my manager who constantly targeted me for everything she could find. She would reprimand me for things other partners were not spoken to about and that she herself wouldn’t comply with. She would constantly threaten to fire me, belittle me, refuse to acknowledge any positive attributes and I became so severely stressed I would often have panic attacks before starting my shift. I worked incredibly hard to try and live up to the often unrealistic ideals and tried to take on board feedback and coaching and towards the end of my time was getting consistent positive feedback not only from shift leaders, but other partners and customers. Yet, this was never enough and even after reporting it, my concerns were not taken seriously and HR sided with my Manager and would indicate that if I couldn’t find someone to support me then they wouldn’t take my claims seriously even though I have countless examples and evidence of the behavior which I reported. This is the problem with bullying. The bully commonly creates such an environment that no one feels comfortable speaking up. Even if they aren’t the target they don’t want to get involved sometimes due to the fear they will endure the same. I appreciate that I just got really unlucky, where the store that I was in was just a nightmare, and I’m sure there are great stores and great managers out there however the bigger issue is the HR"

"I'd rather eat glass than to work here again. 0/10 would not recommend. Remember, you're serving coffee addicts. Starbucks customers are on a whole different level of certified crazy and working here will result in years of therapy. Please, for the love of whatever you believe in, DO NOT apply here."

"I have worked with Starbucks since the summer of 2017. within six months of working there was able to become a lead advanced skills trainer, which also lead to more opportunities, for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my coworkers and felt welcomed to work there."

"I have worked for Starbucks since 2013. Making Starbucks a career is a realistic option for those willing to put in the effort. They have lots of different benefits, a few of which I took advantage of. They give free stocks at the end of each year. It is a fun job that can also be really rewarding. I am very thankful for the opportunities Starbucks gave me."

"I have loved working for Starbucks. As a five year partnership, this company has helped me grow and shaped me to be the leader I am today. It is a great company to work for, with great benefits. Without them, I would still be working on getting my bachelor degree. Thankfully, I had Starbucks and the Starbucks College Achievement Program."

"I am a current Barista Trainer at Starbucks Coffee! It is amazing to understand what coffee can do, how many people it brings together and the amount of coffee we all drink in a day. I enjoy helping others, teaching others, and also learning about others through coffee. It is a truly fun experience and highly recommends being a Barista Trainer once before starting your dream career!"
