Installer

"Best Buy provides some career advancement opportunities for those that have a moldable personality to fit in their model."

What do you like about working at Best Buy?

"I enjoyed the freedom that being a car audio installer gave you. We were locked in the back of the store, and weren't forced to follow the 'commission-like' sales brow beatings that the salespeople had to give the customers for the service plans."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Attempt to find a store that strives for customer and employee satisfaction. It may be hard to find one, but there are some out there."

What don't you like about working at Best Buy?

"The 'service plan or bust' attitude. Management was given bonuses for reaching a set goal on service plan to sales ratio. It seemed that the plan was the most important aspect of the company, NOT the customer."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They really should pay more attention to the customer, and the customer's reactions towards the relentless onslaught of service plan propositions. Generally, it starts with the first salesperson, then the cashier, loss prevention personnel, and finally any services that are required from Computer Techs to Installation Techs."
