"Staples provided a good environment to grow as a young professional, and gave me the tools needed to really develop my current skillset and grow new talents. Management had a strong focus on their current employees, but would often times favor other employees based on geographical location. Overall, a good workplace, great co-workers, and good compensation. Major con would be one of my direct supervisors being a bit more of a party goer than I was, which would cause issues when I didn't want to go out to bars after a long work-day (this was frowned upon in the high-pressure sales environment)."

"My self worth is worth more than this company is willing to give at this time."

What do you like about working at Staples?

"Most of my co-workers are excellent to work with. The physical company I work with has good management."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Unless you are a kid or a retired person who doesn't depend on making money, don't do it, at least right now. A few years ago I would have said differently and I am a long time employee."

What don't you like about working at Staples?

"It's not so much the company, but the corporation. In good times money was spent like water and bring in expensive items that never sell then clearance at a loss. Now things are tight with their re-invention which means they are concerned with customer service, yet they don't appreciate the people that make the company by, cutting hours, benefits, no raises. Oh, the lucky ones got an extra 14 cents an hour. Work harder, make more money, for who"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management have to worry about their own positions. A lot of them had positions that have been cut and I think the rest of them are scared. The corporation is trying hard to make more money, but in doing so they are upsetting their very valuable long term employees to make room for lower pay part time associates who don't know anything."
