"My salary was average at best. The work of Community Manager is split between the success of our customers and the success of our teams. There are a lot of moving parts in this role and we never had the full amount of resources to excel. Most of the time it was problem solving, but so much that it took away from the ability to give 100% to each pillar."

"I have known that my current compensation is low than a lot of my competitors. This can be due to a variety of reasons-- one being that the market I live and work in is inflated and ranges wildly. A project manager at one company might make 80,000-90,000 while at another they might be making 110,000-125,000. I think it's similar to the APM. Not to say I am happy with what I make, I don't necessarily let it bog me down because I really enjoy working with the people I do. If it wasn't for the people, then I probably would have started looking at other options a few months ago. Now that I am looking for something new, a more competitive salary is one of my most important factors for choosing a new job. Especially since I am getting married this year and we are hoping to start a family within 1-2 years."
