"Cummins is an excellent company to grow as an engineer (multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, chemical ... even c.s.). They also invest time and money in diversity, which keeps employees happy. However, they have layoffs every 3 years, and anyone can be affected. Apparently not even their top engineers are crucial enough. This is not fair. If you get hired, start looking for other opportunities soon after."
"Excellent company and people to work with. The benefits are good."
"I've worked at Cummins Inc. for the past 7.5 years. I've found my roles Cummins to be a good mix of challenges and routine tasks. The city has a small town feel to it. I would recommend the company based on the flexibility and opportunities to grow and learn. Management listens and reacts."
"Worked with Cummins for 2.5 years with great Job Satisfaction, But leadership should stop laying off people every 4-5 years in order to have the trust of employees in the company."
"I worked at Cummins as a Sourcing Analyst from September 2018 to January 2020. Being a global leader in the truck engines industry, Cummins has the resources to grow and develop their employees within their professional fields as well as other areas they find interesting. The company also has an excellent work-life balance with flexible schedules where the focus is on the quality of the work completed."
"Overall good company with pretty unstable employment. layoff's every 3 years"
"It is a good company to work for. Being a seasoned player, it uses a lot of industry-standard practices and technology which can be a good learning platform, especially for college grads. Being a huge organization, you can sometimes be constrained by the processes and rigid structures."
"I worked there for 2 years, and there was no clear target given what I have to accomplish."
"I've worked for Cummins for more than a year as DevOps engineer since it's an automotive company most of the projects would be internal and you'll have a good amount of time to work on them. It has a good working environment. Cummins headquarters is in Columbus IN which is a very small place."
"Good Company. Good Team and good opportunities"
"I started in September 2019 as an Intern and found the experience to be quite positive."
"Cummins is a good company to work for. They value people's time and lives a lot more than i have seen other employers do. The location of the company however is not the best. I am placed in Columbus IN, which is a pretty small city, which is something i personally don't prefer. Nothing wrong with the company campus though.."
"Good company but very process ridden which makes project lengthy and slow down the development process. The processes needs the mint of fresh softwares available by getting rid of old slow softwares being used. Management needs to be more enthusiastic about employee development and be more open."
"I am a people-oriented manager that can offer 29 years of industrial product manufacturing experience, functional roles encompassing operations, process engineering, project control, material program management, sourcing, and quality systems management (QSM), primarily energy and power generation applications, gas and steam turbines. I specialize in project management, including areas of financial management, maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), procurement, manufacturing processes, and new product introduction (NPI)."
