"Benefits are reduced every year. Productivity programs (HOS they call it) are stupid. It's supposed to be modeled after Toyota but they totally miss the point, and no one except management thinks it's a good thing but they have to."

"Reduce the number of management levels and not try to force productivity programs like they are some type of religion."

"I did not like the routine operations since this was an existing spacecraft."

"The management did not have much flexibility because this was an existing spacecraft."

"There is not enough job security. Everything is contract. If they lose the contract, you lose the job."

"None, as they are mostly aware of what type of people they need."

"Have a multifaceted background and be willing to learn. Always have another job on the back burner."

"I dislike layoffs, deceptive management, no employee loyalty, and no appreciation of IT staff."

"Reduce politics and stress levels, cut back on layoffs, and retain quality staff."

"Honeywell is global and diverse. I traveled to India and conferences all the time. I was given responsibilities and a good work environment. I love working on aerospace components and designs."

"The candidate should apply only if he/she has good knowledge of CAD/PLM/ITAR."

"There were many changes in management, and a few reorganizations have slowed some progress. Many programs didn't get funded and had to stop working on good work."

"Need clear Racix (roles and responsibility). Keep the customer focus and aligned project tasks to meet customer needs."

"No suggestions. Keep up the fantastic work that you have been doing."

"Good pay for contractors and direct hires. I was able to solve problems that had been unresolved for a number of years."

"Be aware of the risk of reorganizations and the always present risk of layoffs at the Albuquerque site. Most of the hiring is done through temporary agencies. I was brought in through Manpower Professional and worked two years before being hired directly."

"There is no local control of decisions and future. There is a constant turnover of managers."

"There needs to be a focused effort on simplifying the business model to focus on the core competencies and build strengths at the contract manufacturers."

What do you like about working at Honeywell?

"People are friendly. Designing and project managing are interesting and challenging. There is a daily need to communicate with other countries. I work with a team for implementing a new thermostat and am excited to see something I designed come to life."

"They like to hire contractors and interns, but not full-time employees."

What don't you like about working at Honeywell?

"I feel like a number in a large company. Although my immediate boss has put in requests to hire me, the upper management has decided to freeze hiring for the time being."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop outsourcing all of your jobs to other countries. There will come a day when it will make more sense to close shop here and take management to where the bulk of the employees are located."

"I appreciated being able to help the company make the software transition while helping them avoid some potential practical problems."

"Just be aware that as a large division of a large corporation, it could be difficult to get things done."

"There were some internal 'turf' and organizational conditions that made progress difficult."

"A little more inter-group cooperation might have helped get things done faster."

"Management, at least in my region of the country, was poor at best."

"Be a part of your contracts, your customers, and your employees. Showing up twice a year for evaluations just does not make the cut."
