"I do not recommend Kindred Hospital, Los Angeles. They portrayed themselves one way and turned to be something totally different. I agreed to take the job to gain back my skills as a bedside nurse. The pay is low and they do not pay 1.5 after eight hours. The job entails a lot of heavy pulling and they are often short-staffed. I went through six preceptors. I was pulled from one preceptor who got reassigned to a young new nurse and then got reassigned to a preceptor who was per dime. After that, I got a preceptor who was a new nurse and then another who was a bully. There were times when I took lunch at 3 or 4 or 5 pm. Hardly ever took lunch at 5 hours. They did not seem to care one bit about how badly I was treated."
"LTC facility that opened my eyes to the need for above standard leadership"
"great company to work and grow"
"Kindred at Northwest Houston is a laid back place to work but most employees are female. Anytime a male is hired, all the women go crazy. If a good-looking guy gets hired there will be a lot of women trying hard to catch the male employee's attention. Employees here need to focus on the patient and what brought them there."
"They are trying to improve quality of care."
"Need stronger leadership, especially those more sensitive to the needs of the care providers. Leadership tends to micromanage, and take pride in micromanagement. On the other hand, the concept for care transitions is an excellent one. Done well, it could help serve a great need in our communities."
"Great co-workers, great hospital. Worst management I've ever had in my career. No motivation, verbal bullying from a manager and a lead that'll throw you under a bus."
