"MetLife is a great company to work for with a broad and diverse range of work experience."
"I've worked for MetLife since 2007. I have personally experienced a culture of inclusiveness, diversity and a strong drive on development from within. I believe MetLife operates with good ethical values and a concern for society which is evident through its offerings of affordable products and services that reach many low-middle income individuals and disadvantaged populations. MetLife has a long history of responsible and impact investing with a focus on Green Investments, Impact Investments & Affordable Housing, Infrastructure and Municipal Bonds. At the end of 2018 these responsible investments totaled $52.6 billion dollars. MetLife is committed to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and is a signatory to the SDGs. MetLife is also a signatory to the UN PRI and the UN GICC Gender Innovation Principals. Most recently our CEO became a signatory for Catalyst CEO Champions for Change which is a group of 60+ CEOs pledging to advance more women into all levels of leadership."
"I worked for MetLife for about 4 years. The people are great...there's a MetLife niceness that keeps things from moving as quickly as they could. Great benefits, but it can be hard to navigate a career path here though it's a huge global org. Not many leaders are committed to leading well or coaching or mentoring. There's more focus on numbers and results than anything else. Old old systems."
"MetLife is an exceptional organization that is filled with talented, dedicated, and... well... really good people. The headquarters at 1095 Avenue of the Americas has fantastic views of the city and especially of Bryant Park, which is a nice little perk."
"Very good during my internship."
"MetLife is a very old company. Their ways are of stodgy old men who don't quite want to walk into the 21st century. Until 2 months ago, I was using a modified version of Microsoft XP. Working in the online sphere, the OS as well as the machines running them were by far completely outdated. Additionally, with a large organization the size of MetLife comes an unbelievable amount of inter-office politics. This stops up work from being done."
"I've worked with MetLife. The company is the largest financial company in the fiance world. I had gathered a lot of experience during my working period. I enjoyed working with my team because the team was the most awesome team ever!"
"I worked for the company for more than three years, it used to be a great company that cared for its people, employees and clients alike. Then it changed when there was a strategic direction change that resulted some top producers left the company. That was a few years ago. I still believe it is a good company to work for."
"My experience was rather brief, less than three months."
What do you like about working at MetLife?
"Very proactive, with new retirement products and aggressive marketing programs."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Not really - just play it straight, and be prepared to wait for a decision. Like many large companies, they do not make decisions quickly."
What don't you like about working at MetLife?
"They had a last-in, first-out policy for new employees, and I was let go because of it."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Don't be so quick to reverse hiring decisions made just a few months before. Loyalty is obviously not a two-way street."
