What do you like about working at Sears?

"I like the location, and as with every company, there are some good people/talent."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Benefits are sparse. Medical is twice the cost of previous employers with worse value. There is no 401k match. The yearly bonus is literally double-digit after taxes. Company discount is being removed in lieu of Shop Your Way Points, which are a joke, and significant limits are placed on what you can use them for. The CEO appears only interested in selling off the assets of the company. Probably a year or two more until the shoe drops."

What don't you like about working at Sears?

"I don't like uncertainty about the future. low morale, and lack of any clear direction."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"CEO just resigned and is being replaced by the Chairman of the Board - not really an improvement."

Sales Associate

What do you like about working at Sears?

"I enjoy interacting with some of my fellow associates who are quite interesting and cool people. I also enjoy selling (I work on commission), but only in the fact that I'm making more money, and I feel like I'm earning that money with hard work and smarts. I kind of feel like my own boss some days, and I enjoy that."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"You're there to get a job where they could care less about you and your future. Just know what they need to fill that role and be that."

What don't you like about working at Sears?

"I do not enjoy low pay. I feel like I put a lot of work into what I do at Sears, and there is not a ton of reward sometimes. I also feel like I am not moving anywhere (which I am not), so that is depressing."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would promote a more long-term employee kind of thing. Currently, Sears seems to be extremely self-serving, and selfish. My interests don't seem to be their problem in the slightest."

"I disliked no annual raise incentive for employees, being expected to work 12-hour days without a break, and lack of good leadership from higher-up managers. "Care for the employees more by offering incentives to stay."
