Wells Fargo Employee

"Fostering a cutthroat and backstabbing environment is paramount to Wells Fargo. Their business model is to hire thousands of bankers with the promises of riches and work/life balance and then pressure them into unethical sales tactics. All smoke and mirrors. They hide behind their jargon of match talk customer needs assessment financial priorities worksheet. All the while training you to attack the next customer who walks in the door. Poor ethics."

Teller

"I started with Wachovia which became Wells Fargo. As they remodeled the branch and changed our Standard Operating Procedures, it became apparent that associates were no longer respected and valued, instead we were expendable. The same can be said for our customers. We even had one regional leader say if they don't have $250k in their accounts we don't want those peasants, when it came to asking about going to a nursing home to talk retirement."

Actuarial Analyst

"Great starting job out of college."

What do you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"The company had very good benefits, as well as an exam program to help pass actuarial exams. I passed four actuarial exams but eventually chose to go in a different path more geared towards finance. What I liked the most was that the work was very challenging. I learned new things every day I came to work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared for a long interview (about six hours). Be yourself, ask several questions about the job and the environment, and learn about the company ahead of time."

What don't you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"There was a lot of administrative work involved as an actuarial analyst, which could be tedious. In addition, working as an actuarial benefit consultant wasn't the right fit for me."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Take the time to be open to suggestions from the analysts. They spend the time working through all of the details and may have some good insight."
