What do you like about working at LS Gallegos?
"It was legal work, which I enjoy very much. I want to continue to work in the legal profession."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't do it. I would never advise anyone to work for this person, he was irresponsible. He still asks me to come work with him, which is out of the question."
What don't you like about working at LS Gallegos?
"He mismanaged money. He had no idea what he was doing on a lot of cases, and after doing research, I used to point that out to him. He would get upset but then he would see it my way. He was getting too old for the profession."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Spend what you can. If you are overspending, you will eventually run out of money!"
What do you like about working at Canadian Armed Forces?
"It was my first attorney job. I had a patient and wise mentor in Richard. I learned a great deal and was given a great deal of responsibility most partners would not have given a brand new attorney. He administered an IQ test to me, loved the number, and based on that number, immediately gave me assignments and complete autonomy. He had the attitude that I would get the job done no matter what so he didn't give me billable hours or care if I worked at home or came in at 10 a.m. as long as it got done. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and as long as the cases were resolved favorably, he did not care how or when I did it. I appreciated the freedom and trust I was given."
What don't you like about working at Canadian Armed Forces?
"My salary was $36,000 plus a bonus structure of 1/3 of what I brought in over that. I personally brought in a med mal case that I individually handled which netted us over $500,000. The partners, overruling Richard, decided not to honor my explicit employment contract and gave me a $100 Christmas bonus, prompting my resignation."
What don't you like about working at Goldberg Segalla?
"Lack of consistent file assignment, requirements for participation in non-billable work, and requirement to personally contest billing denials from insurance carriers."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Place more emphases on ensuring that associate attorneys are busy with enough incoming work to justify their work time."

"Sohphisticated matters."

"Structure of large firm."

What do you like about working at Holland & Knight?
"I am excited by my work and by pushing to become a better lawyer. I have a large group of fellow associates in other H&K offices with whom I get to work. Many partners in my office are supportive and true mentors of the profession."
What don't you like about working at Holland & Knight?
"Overwhelming change in management style has gutted H&K's long tradition of championing the profession over the business side of the profession. The heart of the firm has gone missing."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop for a moment and stop changing everything in the hopes that something will magically change the firm's ability to profit during this time. What you need is the intellectual capital of the firm to oversee this transition, and what has been installed is a system of number-crunching and common management-level inconsistencies."
