"I’ve worked for bath and body works for almost 2 years now. It’s a good company but now I want to challenge myself and go beyond retail."
"The company culture was very tough and not warm or welcoming."
"I absolutely love everything about Bath & Body Works. I have shopped there since I was a little girl and it had always been my dream to work there. I got hired on my 18th birthday and been working there every since. It has been everything I had hoped for and more."
"Worked there for 2 years. Everything was awesome for the first year and a half until our store went to crap and the DM had to come in and it was a ***shit*** show . Everything was very 2 faced and soundly recommended anyone to work there ever again. Higher parts of the company are discriminating and bullying other workers"
"I badly hurt my foot at work a few weeks ago and my supervisor's response was, "I did the same thing a few days ago", not what it should have been, "Lets do an accident report". My main issue is the schedule. It's now Thursday and the schedule (Sun-Sat) is STILL not provided for us. Hard to make weekend plans."
"I worked for Bath and Body for 9 months as a key holder, at first it seemed great. Then they started firing everyone in the management team, forcing me (the part time key holder) to work over 40 hours, which I happily did. A few month after I had been working all these hours I had to call out because I was in the emergency room with a virus and when I could return to work I found an email between my new store manager and my district manager saying "I'm unreliable" and "I have attendance issues". I called out two times my entire employment there, both times I had a doctors note because I was ill."
"I've worked for Bath and body works for 5 years and working here had helped me grow as an employee and as a person. I learned responsibility, communication, and the importance of providing assistance to customers."
"I have been working at Bath and Body Works for about 4 months now. At first, it's a very exciting company to join but you will soon discover that this is not the case. You will get minimum, which is EMBARRASSING for this company considering they are able to retail bottles of luxury shower gels and lotion for $12.50+. Also, the workload is definitely not worth your hourly pay. They also took away our gratis and now we must do demos for them. That's not the meaning of gratis, by the way CEO!!"
"I'm sure that the other Bath & Body works are great places to work. But I do NOT recommend working for the one in Brookfield, WI. They do not ever schedule hours and they never paid me for my first paycheck! I have been waiting a month for that paycheck and they keep saying they accidentally skipped over it. The management is soooo unprofessional, to the point that I called in sick one day and they laughed at me and told me I HAD TO COME IN, no other option. So, I quit that same day."
"I honestly love working here. The pay isn't great and the company expects a lot from you, but it's a fun job. My coworkers are great, and our managers are so nice. They give out freebies every once in a while. There's a lot to deal with, keeping the store stocked and handling shipment, but this is still a fun company to work for."
"Love working here and hope to keep working here for awhile."
What do you like about working at Bath & Body Works?
"The people are terrific! There is such an open door with talking to management that even the slightest issue can be resolved very easily and quickly. The products we sell are great and easy to back, esp when the company provides many times gratis to employees which allows us to try and recommend the product and own it so we can give our feedback and experience back to management and the customers. The atmosphere inside the store is very casual and relaxed and always a great time. I usually look forward to my shifts at the store because I'm seeing people I look forward to seeing while working. There's also a good bit of freedom to allow you to complete projects you feel would benefit the store. If management agrees then you get time to work it out and if its great its shared with store & regional leads and shared across the board. It's great hearing the positive feedback."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Have fun with your interviewer, come prepared to answer questions about your history, and be ready to swallow the short hour shifts. They may be short and sweet, but the more time you put in, shifts you cover for other associates, and flexible work hours you'll get to see more hours come your way if your hired. Its a great fun atmosphere and if you enjoy some light work and talking about great product you probably already use then you'll love it!"
What don't you like about working at Bath & Body Works?
"Sometimes the hours can be less than thrilling and the call in shifts can also be annoying, but that's usually never a huge issue."
