"Worked over 30 years for Black Box. The last 5 years were terrible. Acquisition and new management were very toxic and created a combative/look over your shoulder environment. No raise in years. This company does not respect its employees, especially the tenured employees. Process changes in the way you are expected to do your job are changing constantly. Glad to be gone which was my decision."
"While my time at blackbox was short i really enjoyed the culture and people. I would jump at the opportunity to work there again. I just hope the next time, the tasks I need to do is better planned than the one i left. It was at no fault of blackbox. It was more the client blackbox was servicing."
"I worked a Black Box Network Services as a Senior Project Manager conducted and oversee business specific projects by applying expertise, promoting all procedures and policies, developing work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines, coordinating and delegating resources to accomplish organizational goals, making business decisions, solving complex problems, escalating issues and risk, monitoring progress and results and influencing the completion of project task by others."
"Horrible company caught up in old technology with an old regime. Very much an old boys club and they don't like new people. They are not pleasant to them, they intentionally keep them out of the loop, and press them to leave making an excuse why old ways are still valid."
"I've been at Blackbox for 8 years. Revenue seems to be the game. Techs have great moral support but we lack the tools and resources and support from the company. No stress environment unless you actually need to get your work done, and god forbid you get a raise. So you watch your pay shrink as the benefits become more expensive."
"It's good if you are content where you are."
"Laid-back work environment, needs to update technology - much of it is outdated, which makes it hard to keep pace with our competitors. Company is trying to rapidly expand its core capabilities and offerings, while at the same time attempting to control costs. Isolated location away from customers makes things more difficult than they need to be."
"Think that they could teach their new employees better. I wish they had better training for the new people coming in. Also I feel that NY does not treat their other sites the same."
"Used to be a good company before upper management destroyed it.No one in charge knows what they are doing. Morale is poor, managers are terrible at their jobs, there is no compensation for doing a good job and overall a very bad place to work. The pay is terrible. There are never raises and the salaries are well under industry standards. Yet there are some unqualified employees that make 4 times more then they deserve while good workers are starving."
"I've worked at Quanta Systems/Blackbox for 3 years... noticed that the technicians have the tools, whereas the management does not. Here is why my experience has allowed me to persevere and stay successful. When management does not listen to what is going on in the field, they cannot give what's needed to the field/site and they remain successful. The work isn't hard at all; those you work with make the mission complex for no reason."
