"Say you respect their entrepreneurial atmosphere. There isn't really one, but they love to hear it. Also, tell them you've heard great things about them on the street. They have institutional middle child syndrome."

"Management is adrift. There's always the feeling that the junior people are running the desks."

"Hire managers based on management ability, not seniority."
