"Been with Fidelity for 20 years and it's an outstanding company. As with any large firm, divisional leadership is key and for the most part the people in charge make the right decisions."
"Pay and benefits are both extremely good for the work required. Work life balance is not bad. As of this time (late 2014) the company is undergoing significant internal turmoil on the IT side as it's trying to transition to a SOA model and has resulted in a moderately toxic atmosphere. Advancement is fine up to a point but caps out fairly early compared to more tech oriented companies, whereupon you're pressured to either move to the finance side or go into management. I would recommend this company more to people firmly entrenched in Finance IT or to young developers looking for a first job."
"Excellent company, great environment."
"I have been an intern at Fidelity since January of 2014 and I've found this company to train me to be the young professional that I am by obtaining my technical skills."
"It's a good place to work, but to move up you have to be very political."
"At Fidelity you come for the work and stay for the people. The amount of talent in the UX team is unbelievable and everyone is willing to help. It's a very progressive environment and the director are high level thinkers and creators. The work can be a bit dry at times but there is always opportunities to pick up more interesting work, you have to be self motivated but the rewards are great!"
"Great organization to work for."
"Fidelity is a good company. Just very hard to progress, career-wise. Not a lot of opportunities in the tech QA space."
"I have worked with Fidelity Investments since June of 2006 where I started as a technical intern in the Brokerage Retirements systems group. In 2012 I joined the variable compensation team as a business systems analyst where I began to build on my systems analysis skills and begin developing my business analysis skills. I really enjoy working for Fidelity."
"Fidelity is a great company with excellent benefits. I enjoy working at Fidelity and would recommend it to anyone. The QA organization is great. The Merrimack location is not appealing however. I would stay at this company forever if they had not relocated. One thing to keep in mind is as with any big company, there is a lot of bureaucracy. The people are great and always willing to help others."
"I've worked for Fidelity Investments for over 20 years. The working environment is challenging but rewarding. I'd have to say the one thing that stands out is the one firm culture: everyone has important projects to do, but we all help each other. The senior management leaders are brilliant, competent and are great motivators. It is a privilege to be employed there."
"Fidelity has taken very good care of me over the last 19 years, both professionally and with excellent performance incentives. Although I loved the work I did, Fidelity could be very demanding, sometimes leaving little to no recharging between large projects, But I must say I always kept driving forward and delivered successful projects. The new CEO was fully committed to Agile methodologies where I picked up some new skills. I would have stayed if not for their relocation to Texas."
"I worked at Fidelity for 26 years. For an IT professional the environment consistently presented strong challenges, and rich rewards, for those willing and able to clearly identify the opportunity/problem to be addressed and see the appropriate solution through to completion. I had a very good run."
"I liked working for Fidelity Investments, good team, great environment. I was engaged for a short term - 3 months contract to provide PMO and Delivery Assurance consultation to their teams of Program Managers, Product Managers and Project Managers. The contract ended after successful delivery and completion of objectives at the end of October."
"Fidelity is a great company to work for. I loved the working environments, and people that I worked with."
