Working at Fusian in Cincinnati, OH: 1 Employee Reviews

Team Member

"When I first started at Fusian, I loved it. All my coworkers were quirky and positive, even my managers quickly became my friends. I worked there almost a year, and as time went on I could sense changes in the atmosphere of the company. It is essentially a sushi version of Chipotle, and they were eager to ditch the respect for their employees in exchange for more money. At one point my check was shorted and I wasn't given a raise that had been explicitly promised, complete with date my new pay rate would start. When I confronted the corporate people about it they flat out refused to give me, and other employees in the same boat, back pay we were owed, offering a hollow apology instead. I had heard of people being regularly shorted on checks, particularly if they worked close to or above 40 hours in a week. I believe it was my vocal objection to the mistreatment of employees by the corporate people that led to my sudden termination, along with two of my coworkers who were shift leaders at the time, and very loyal and hardworking. We were never written up, never talked to about our performance, and all the managers who actually work in the restaurant had only expressed satisfaction in our work. When the operating manager of the store told me I was being let go, he made it clear it wasn't his decision and was visibly upset, telling me he would still be a good reference. I still can't figure out the motives of the corporate people who didn't even work with us... particularly in their decision to fire my coworkers who were less vocal in their dissatisfaction and who played valuable roles in the leadership of the restaurant."
