"Have less contractors and more real Googlers. Contractors are doing a lot of the hard work but have no benefits."

"Don't do it. Or, if you must, then relocate to Mountain View. Avoid the Santa Monica Google office."

"IMO, I dislike incompetent management bungling projects. IMO, engineers are compelled to sit and do as they are told even when they believe that the wrong direction is being pursued."

"Create a flatter organization with fewer managers. Allow different approaches to a solution to be heard and evaluated without using intimidation to suppress alternate points of view."

"Employees are given a lot of latitude in getting things done. Priorities are allowed to shift when it makes sense. It is a very collaborative environment, yet everyone is still an important contributor."

"Know your stuff inside and out. After that, just relax and enjoy the process."

"Nothing. Really, I'm serious, nothing. This is the best job I've ever had."
