It helped with educating with state law specifics on certain type of accounts as well as gave insight on how each department works together to allow the company to strive. The supervisors are defiantly like peers and they have a culture coaching sessions to help you to improve in your career. Upper management engages with employees to make the company and work place a better company to be working for. I would highly recommend this company for anyone wanting a chance to get started in the world of finance."

"A very poor environment where you're punished for doing a good job."
"From the IT side of HCA, the company is very convoluted. We implemented a $30 mil project using $260 mil and it is still not finished. The project has been almost scrapped after $200 mil has been used up. The deadline has been pushed back 3 times and now requires another year to complete (at least). On top of all this, everyone who is related to the project is getting promoted. We have a senior director who introduces himself as senior director of IT strategy, but knows absolutely nothing about IT. His words, not mine. We implemented a backup strategy for the last 5 years, which cannot be restored from, because tapes are sent far away to another state and cannot be fetched. When you have 1 production server, how many staging server do you need to pull partial data out of your production server? It took 3 managers and two directors in one hour to come up with...one server. Vendors over charge the company by ridiculous amounts, due to the amount of technical knowledge that exists in this company, they accept it happily. Example: we hard-coded a number to be 365, presenting 365 days worth of data to be fetched each time the code is run; we now want to change it to fetch only 1 day worth of data. How long does this take? 2 days per hard-coded value, according to the vendor, to change the number 365 to 1. This was approved for 7 different coding places, which means 14 days were used to change 7 different 365s, to 1s; at the rate of $100 / hour."
