"The atmosphere is conducive for independent thinking (thinking outside the box is encouraged) and an entrepreneurial style. Good work and independent thinking are rewarded."

What don't you like about working at Iams Pet Food?

"When Proctor and Gamble purchased the Iams Company, it took away some of the positive small-company advantages and attributes. Still a great place to work!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None. Management was great and the best feature was an always-on open-door policy. You could walk up to a vice president's office door without an appointment, and if she or he wasn't busy, the would invite you in to talk. They never gave you the impression that they were hurrying you through the conversation (although it was a given that you did not want to wear out your welcome and your visit should have a specific agenda)."
