Position Summary

Provides direct patient care based on individual need according to hospital policies and procedures, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and within the scope of practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant, after initial orientation and completion of skills checklist. Acts as an assistant in the Endoscopy Department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant Program/OR Technician or Certified Medical Assistant preferred
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant, CMA/OR Technician. C.N.A.2 - Acute Care preferred.
  • Obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire and maintain as current.
  • Meets recertification and continuing education requirements according to level of certification.
  • Commits to the endoscopy call requirement as specified by Department Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides direct personal care under the supervision of the RN within the scope of practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Participates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Completes all documentation within departmental requirements and guidelines. Demonstrates competency in scope cleaning and following manufactures guidelines.
  • Participates in the responsible management of all departmental/hospital resources, which includes endoscopy supplies and equipment.
  • Assists in the Endoscopy lab as an endoscopy technician. Sets up, cleans and processes equipment. Restocks supplies in the Endo suite. Assists with department inventory when needed.
  • Must be available to take call at variable times.
