Summary

The Lean Engineer is a key factory staff member responsible for aiding in the development of a Factory Master Plan (FMP) roadmap aligned to the 1 to 5-year business plan and synchronization into our manufacturing processes, improving material flow, and delivering on short and long-term objectives. Achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SDQC) objectives using lean tools, techniques, and methods. The Lean Engineer will work in concert with cross-functional teams to provide support in achieving the goals defined in the FMP.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, collect, and analyze data to develop statistical problems and goals
  • Convene, lead, and facilitate continuous improvement project teams motivated to execute Kaizen/ Rapid Improvement
  • Convene and lead Project Teams to develop an integrated plan to drive synchronization into our manufacturing processes, improve material flow, and deliver on short and long-term objectives
  • Provide frequent updates effectively and efficiently through formal and informal presentation techniques to the team
  • Ensure change management occurs by keeping all employees informed, engaged, and committed to delivering on project deliverables/ objectives
  • Develop, identify, and share best manufacturing/ lean practices, methods, and ideas
  • Maintain and make recommendations of the next steps in the Factory Master Plan in collaboration with factory leadership to improve current state capabilities and position the organization closure to the future state plan
  • Work with Senior Leadership to chart progress to plan
  • Interpret customer needs and requirements, translate concepts into best practices, identify Assembly and Finishing process improvement opportunities, and quantify results and trends
  • Adhere and monitor SOP
  • Effectively communicate and notify the supervisor when there are any discrepancies
  • Must be able to accurately input all required data into the manufacturing database
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the manager

Required Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will possess years of manufacturing experience incorporating Industrial Engineering and Lean Methodologies in medium-volume manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrable track record years of successfully working in a medium or high-volume manufacturing environment in durable goods industries in roles that directly affected manufacturing results (SDQC)
  • Experience in rationalization, and materials management/ flow
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Cross-functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm
  • Advanced Factory Master Planning and goal deployment experience in which the candidate has led medium to large FMP projects
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Experience working independently with little supervision


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field



Computer Skills

Requires advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform. MS PowerPoint and Outlook.
