PART TIME JOB - 3 days / 24 hours per week
Occupational Health role in a corporate setting - this is NOT at a medical facility.
Position is 100% on site.
Minimum REQUIRED Education/Experience:
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certification
- 5 years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- CPR/BLS
- 2+ years in occupational health
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) Spirometry (NIOSH approved course optimal)
Experienced in occupational and environmental health services and assume overall responsibility for all OSHA program medical requirements (e.g. respiratory protection, hearing conservation, etc.), the protection of individuals from occupational and environmental hazards, illness and injury prevention, and health promotion. Be in compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety for employees and the environment.
Key Functional Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical exams for OSHA mandated programs such as vision tests, hearing tests.
- Review and interpret results and reports from outside practitioners, including history/physical, EKG, labwork, spirometry and audiograms conducted by outside medical personnel at other facilities.
- Serve as a resource to nurses that on site occupation health nurses and consult regarding minor or basic First Aid treatment of employee injuries and illnesses, including triage and disposition of those cases to outside medical facilities.
- Partner with EAP, HR and Management, and when required, contact external providers to address health issues and concerns that impact the safety and ability to function for employees in the workplace.
- Oversee current medical practices relating to handling of hazardous materials or maintenance of health and safety standards (OSHA Programs).
- Partner with EHS to respond to unexpected exposures/hazards that occur in the workplace and to create preventative measures that ensure the health and safety of employees
