Accentuate Staffing has an immediate opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join a team in Morrisville. The Payroll Specialist provides comprehensive administrative support for payroll functions. This role involves processing transactions and ensuring accuracy in payroll administration. Facilitate the seamless processing of weekly payroll information in anticipation of bi-weekly payroll cycles.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-state hourly and salaried payroll processing in Workday, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Review, audit, and adjust timesheets within the Workday platform for all employees.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with third-party vendors to manage wage garnishment, insurance premiums, and tax processing effectively.
  • Prioritize accuracy by meticulously reviewing and securing approval for payroll corrections and adjustments prior to submission.
  • Guarantee the precision of payroll records within Workday before authorizing funding, ensuring financial integrity.
  • Conduct thorough weekly audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with SWA regulations.
  • Provide comprehensive payroll reporting to managers, supervisors, and auditors upon request.
  • Proactively handle stop payment requests, manual check requests, and necessary system updates as needed.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for addressing inquiries regarding pay policies and procedures, ensuring clarity, and understanding amongst employees.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources department on various personnel matters, ensuring alignment and efficiency.
  • Obtain essential information from management for employees working internationally, ensuring accurate payroll processing.
  • Uphold safety protocols, company policies, and ISO requirements, fostering a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Contribute to the enhancement and optimization of payroll systems through active participation in testing and implementing system updates.
  • Provide valuable support during year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Offer dedicated support during both internal and external payroll audits, ensuring seamless cooperation and accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance department to assist in budgeting and forecasting related to payroll expenses, contributing to financial transparency and accountability.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and external stakeholders, offering timely and accurate assistance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
  • Requires a minimum of 1-3 years’ prior experience of payroll coordinating, administrating, and/or payroll specialist roles.
  • Prior industry experience with payroll processing in the manufacturing industry, is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Workday is desired but not required; experience with similar payroll software is acceptable.
  • Proficiency in intranet, email, Microsoft Office, and management information systems.
  • Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with other payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex) is a plus.
