Position HighlightsDepartment: Hospitalist ServicesHours: 0.00 per weekShift: Shift: Shift 4Work Schedule: Weekend Requirement: Insert Every Other Weekend or Every Third Weekend Position Summary To provide high quality and efficient patient care to Middlesex Health patients. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Under general direction: Practices evidence based medicine Responds to evaluate patients in a timely fashion Meets Hospital Quality Alliance National Reported Measures Addresses all issues appropriately on a daily basis, both medical, and social, including the primary reason for admission and other pertinent active issues Communicates appropriately with Primary Care Physician, Nurses, Case Management staff, peers Complete detailed daily progress notes, in a readable legible informative format Documentation of family meetings and discussions, such as regarding code status Detailed admission notes and discharge summaries Appropriate supervision of and availability to mid-level practitioners Acts as an effective preceptor and role model for residents Available to residents for questions and patient care issues Adheres to all Core Values (Compassion, Pursue Excellence, Cooperation and Collaboration, Upholds Honesty, and Supports Innovation). Other job related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: M.D. or D.O. licensed in the state of Connecticut. Medical staff privileges at Middlesex Hospital as a Hospitalist. Complies with all MH Medical staff bylaws for maintenance of MH privileges. Board certification (or eligibility within two years of employment) in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
