Summary
This position will be primarily responsible for writing, editing and proofing copy for print and electronic communication. The focus of this writing position is to move prospective students through the admissions funnel. This position will write and edit compelling content that is consistent with the voice of the university and coordinates with content on taylor.edu. The range of projects includes letters, brochures and emails for both prospective students and their parents. Skills needed for this position include good research and interview skills, creativity in new material development, enjoy working independently and with a team.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief in the University's Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the Foundational Documents of Taylor University.
- Write/Edit/Proof/Review all admissions print materials and mass emails sent to our prospective audience.
- Coordinate the completion of taylor.edu news stories.
- Adopt an accurate and consistent writing tone and voice for Taylor University.
- Oversee the admissions social media accounts as needed.
- Assist in the development of advertising scripts as needed.
- Maintain high standards of copywriting and exercise quality control on all copy.
- Understand recruitment objectives and assist in the development of material to meet these goals.
- Work with other department representatives to gain an understanding of their needs and accurately reflect those needs in the content.
- Assist the admissions office in developing communication that is engaging and helps prospective students and families better understand Taylor University.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication or a related field. A Taylor degree is preferred.
- Self-motivates with a keen enthusiasm for and demonstrable understanding of communication and marketing.
- Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write in a range of voices and styles for varied projects, with diverse audiences and concisely communicate complex and demanding subject matter.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work with the entire admissions and marketing teams to understand business objectives and user goals.
