Find whole-person care, dedicated teams and staff, and a wide variety of medical services, all at our hospital in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.\n \n\n \n The role you’ll contribute:\n \n\n \n Under the direction of the Radiologist, performs MRI radiologic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical procedures that will require independent judgment and initiative to perform MRI procedures and appropriate protocols for diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.\n \n\n \n The value you’ll bring to the team:\n \n\n \n\n\nRotates emergency call status.\n \nContacts GE/Phillips service engineer for assistance when system problem arises.\n \nPerforms other related duties as required and deemed necessary per Radiology Director.\n \nFollows “Standard of Behavior” guidelines per hospital policy.\n \nMaintains ethical relationships and cooperates with all personnel in proper conduct of department\n \nIncorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.\n \nTransfers and positions patients. Lifting of patients is necessary at times...\n \nInitiates and assists in Code Blue procedures if called.\n \nProvides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards...\n \nOperates computer by typing in patient information needed for the examination and proper protocols for the procedure.\n \nVerify and transmit each exam to the PACs System... This secures storage of each patient scanned for future reference.\n \nParticipates in the training of MRI technologists.\n \nMaintains adequate record of each procedure done.\n \nMaintains record of each patient examination by filling out forms for examination procedure and protocol used: health forms, medical symptoms, history, contraindications. This includes amount of contrast injected (if any), what type of contrast and clinical information.\n \nFollows the AIDET model(Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation and Thank) .\n \nAttends a minimum of 50% of scheduled department meetings and is accountable for obtaining information from missed meetings.\n \nOperates Cerner System proficiently, trouble shoots problems with orders and makes corrections within scope of user level.\n \nVerify the physician signed order for the MRI exam before beginning the test.\n \nSets up and maintains all physiological monitoring equipment and supplies: pulse oximeter; contrast power injector; cardiac, peripheral and respiratory gaiter; and all other equipment necessary to complete procedure.\n \nPrepares room for procedure. Select proper coils, positioning pads and patient monitoring equipment.\n \nProvides immobilization devices as required.\n \nSelects proper technical factors and protocols on an individual basis for each examination.\n \nAdministers contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist.\n \nBrings computers up each morning.\n \nShuts computer down in evening.\n \n\n \n\n\n Qualifications\n \n MRI\n \n\n \n The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:\n \n\n \n EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:\n \n\n \n\n\nAssociate’s Degree or Graduate of a Technical School\n \n\n \n\n\n EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:\n \n\n \n\n\nUp to 1 Year of Position-Related Experience\n \n\n \n\n\n LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:\n \n\n \n\n\nNational Registry ARRT\n \nARRT Registered MRI\n \nBLS obtained through the American Heart Association\n \n\n \n\n\n This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
