JOB SUMMARY

The Administrative Assistant -Student Ministry is responsible for direct support of the Lead Student Pastorand the Student Ministry. This role's administrative and clerical tasks requirea high level of professionalism, and compassion in all aspects of duties andresponsibilities. Provide administrative support in all areas ofresponsibility, including supporting and coordinating varying events, projects,and administrative tasks. Must exemplify an excellent work ethic, bewell-organized, and detail oriented.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directly assist the Lead Student Pastor withadministrative duties pertaining to the ministry, including scheduling andcommunication with families and other departments
  • Serve as point of contact for inquiries and initialcommunication from families connected to the ministry, connecting inquirieswith appropriate leaders within the ministry
  • Maintain information in the database system of familiesand students
  • Process various departmental reports through the databasesystem
  • Maintain general ledger of expense accounts fordepartment
  • Complete and submit all necessary forms for thedepartment, including attendance records, check requests, purchase orders,facility requests, room reservations, print shop orders, and other similartasks
  • Order/purchase supplies for the ministry
  • Train and oversee office volunteers, as applicable
  • Assist in event management of student conference and campthrough year-round planning of contracts, bookings, registrations, andoperations
  • Demonstrate and promote the Five H's that comprise thecore cultural values of the CBC staff, which are Honor, Humility, Hustle,Hospitality, and High Capacity
  • Assist the Lead Student Pastor with the meeting agendafor team meetings and other NextGen ministry and staff-wide meetings as theycome up
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must possess intermediate computer skills using basicapplications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet browsing

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURSOF WORK

This is a regular full-timeposition (36-40 hrs). Monday-Thursday 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m. Occasional night andweekend work will be required as job duties demand.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:
  • Must have good or corrected vision as well as effectiveperipheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must have good manual dexterity and be able to userepetitive motion of the hands and arms
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position forextended periods of time
  • Must be able to move about inside the office and filerooms to perform a variety of tasks
  • Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate inboth written and verbal form
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 10-75 pounds and/orpush/pull objects up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional events/activities outdoors in the heat,occasional events/activities requiring prolonged standing
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicateeffectively with team members at all levels of the organization
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, College or TechnicalSchool a plus
  • 1+ years related work
  • 2 years of event coordinating (preferred)
  • Experience and knowledge pertaining to working withstudents/families
  • Experience in CBC Groups as either leader or participantis a plus
  • Attend worship regularly and special services/events asappropriate
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are performed in a variety of settings to include,outside, office and technical settings where the work and general environmentmay be fast-paced and hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that theemployee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the joband manage multiple projects in service-oriented environment. Environmentalnoise levels are minimal.
