General Manager Offshore Well Containment
Job Description
The General Manager Offshore Well Containment oversees the Helix Fast Response System for Production Facilities.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
- Manages the inventory of spill response equipment which includes the identification and storage location.
- Arranges for the testing, inspection, and maintenance of spill response equipment.
- Maintains records for regulatory review. Conducts and oversees the regulatory testing / inspection of spill response equipment to maintain compliance with BSEE regulations.
- Responds to HWCG member questions, queries, drills, and meetings.
- Interfaces with HWCG members in coordination with maintaining USCG and BOEM compliance.
- Solves technical and regulatory interface issues with HWCG members for utilizing Helix's spill response equipment and systems installed on the Q4000 and Q5000.
- Manages all regulatory compliance issues related to the use of the spill response equipment, and the Q4000 / Q5000 equipment that encompasses the Helix Fast Response System.
- Maintains database of all documentation (drawings, analysis, review & approvals) associated with the spill response equipment.
- Responds and coordinates the response to all announced and unannounced source control drills.
- Participates in all HWCG Deepwater Interface Technical Committee (DITC) Meetings.
- Complete other duties and/or projects as required and assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education / Training: Engineering Degree - Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, and Petroleum disciplines are acceptable with qualified experience.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in marine and/or deepwater producing facilities with emphasis on regulatory compliance.
Skills: Solving technical and regulatory problems which includes direct dealings with the Producers and with BOEM, USCG, DNV, ABS and Lloyd's.
