Job Title: HR Manager 

OVERVIEW: 

As the HR Manager at our company, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR culture, strategies, programs, policies, and processes to ensure our success in starting up and operating our dairy and plant-based ESL and UHT beverage facility.  

 

Our people are our most important resource and are critical to enabling the success of our state-of-the-art plant and our customers. Shaping our corporate values and a positive culture is a vital aspect of this role.  

 

Ultimately, you will: 

  1. Set and develop Human Resources processes and organization objectives.
  2. Drive job, compensation, and benefit design, implementation, and operation.
  3. Manage recruitment processes to meet startup and operational objectives.
  4. Ensure robust onboarding and training programs are in place for all team members.
  5. Implement and guide effective employee relations, performance management, and talent management programs.
  6. Manage HRIS/HRMS environment and external HR-related vendors and partners.

The HR Manager is a crucial member of our senior management team, reporting to the Plant Manager and Company Owners.  

 

This role requires an inspiring and collaborative leader and team builder with great people and communication skills, excellent human resources, business and operational acumen in beverage, food, or other manufacturing environments, and a self-driven work ethic. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Build a fantastic company culture positively reinforced in HR program design and practices.
  • Maintain the HRIS platform
  • Utilize HRIS platform or other data collector to pull reports together for knowledge in decision making.
  • Develop HR strategies aligned to the overall business strategy.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process to ensure we have the right people in the right roles at the right time.
  • Design and manage a positive performance management process that ensures timely and constructive feedback to drive high performance.
  • Maintain compensation, pay, and benefits program design and operations.
  • Assess training needs and ensure appropriate training and certifications programs are in place for all roles.
  • Ensure legal compliance with all HR programs and practices.
  • Owner of all safety and safety related programs in absence of an EHS Coordinator. 
  • Develop and implement learning and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and abilities through performance review and coaching.
  • Enhance and reinforce safety culture and practices for best-in-class workplace safety.
  • Analyze and interpret data to drive process improvements across operations.
  • Set appropriate HR goals and metrics to drive robust business outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the company and with outside suppliers and partners.
  • Lead by example, enhancing overall company culture.
  • Work with site leadership to make informed people decisions.
  • Exhibit intellectual flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and a fast growth business.
  • Select the best employees for open positions as part of the company’s rapid growth.
  • Inspire the team to optimize retention and performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

BS or BA degree, and/or 10+ years of Human Resources roles as both an individual contributor and leader, ideally in a food, beverage, or other manufacturing environment. Must have a proven Generalist background with strong leadership abilities.  


QUALIFICATIONS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  

  • Robust computer operation (email, office suites like Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, web browsers, instant messaging platforms, printing, scanning, electronic signature software) 
  • Working knowledge of at least one on-premise or cloud-based Human Resources software system (such as ADP, WorkDay, Oracle, etc).
  • Proven experience across multiple HR functions and as a people leader.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to moving from startup environment to full production operations.
  • Robust knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
  • Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication


COMMUNICATION SKILLS:  

  • Ability to translate business and quality strategy to a diverse workforce to meet or exceed business goals.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • Familiar with current communication tools and platforms (collaboration tools, instant messaging, blogs, etc.) to keep your organization well informed in a timely manner. 
  • Fluency in Spanish is advantageous but not required.
