We are on the lookout for a dynamic and dedicated Permanent Project Manager for K-12 Construction in the Construction industry. As a key member of our team, you will manage and oversee all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, tenant improvement, and construction management, with a proven track record of successful project management in the K-12 sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of K-12 construction projects from planning to implementation.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
  • Review and analyze project specifications and scope to ensure project feasibility.
  • Develop and manage project schedules using MS Project, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform job costing and financial analysis to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Review work progress on a daily basis and prepare internal and external reports on project status.
  • Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Review and process construction documents, including RFI's, change orders, and submittals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with a specific focus on K-12 projects.
  • Proven working experience in project management, including record of successful project delivery.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in commercial construction and tenant improvement.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and experience with job costing and budgeting.
  • Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team and manage subcontractors.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
