"Turnover is high for a reason; now they won't even allow transfers within L3, but neither will management get its act together"
What do you like about working at L-3?
"The technology we have to work with is great, but often dumb decisions have prevented us from using what is authorized; ex: Entity Frameworks is out in favor of a kid-level biz objects framework someone wrote"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"A few pockets are okay, but this is part of the old Titan (I wasn't able to learn that the contract was under part of the old Titan), and Titan is notorious for being a bad place to work). Titan didn't have a presence here (the contract used to Northrop-Grumman) so sorting things out was only after arriving."
What don't you like about working at L-3?
"The management is really bad. There has been terrible turnover but they still don't get it. This is not a professional workplace, and I've worked in some so I know the difference. The government (this is on-site) has it's own problems, more energy over in-fighting than results, but that is another matter. L3 managment attitude is that's an employee problem, we won't even help mitigate it."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"From the top, hire management based on performance, not prior cliques. Nobody for at least 4 levels higher was ever promoted unless there was a prior working relationship with the boss, which means they can't spot talent, they can only go with personal friends."
