"At Lexis, pay you very well on the commission side, base salaries are lower than market averages around $28000/year; Lexis made it extremely challenging for field reps by taking solo attorneys away to inside sales group, sold off #1 selling product line (internet marketing) and gave #2 software products back to inside sales group down to only two main product lines: research and litigation software; upper management more interested in pleasing themselves and the shareholders."
"I worked there for fifteen years and loved it. Unfortunately I was laid off, my job outsourced."
"I worked for a 150 person company that was purchased by LexisNexis about 8 years before I left. The first couple of years they left us alone and it was still good, then the revolving door of the Executives started and the downward spiral began. They took a very high-performing ISV and reduced it to mediocrity through RIF's to offset losses from other products. Later it was topped off by moving the product line offices to another state, losing most of the technical staff along the way."
"I enjoy working for LexisNexis. Senior leadership communicates vision, strategy, and road maps effectively. But implementation of that strategy at the departmental level is not very evident."
"The company really takes care of its employees. They focus on not only on the work but also the work life balance and even give paid time off to do community service. The work environment fosters teamwork and mutual respect among the employees. I enjoyed my time while working with the company."
"I am working from home full time after they closed the office in Dec 2013. I am a team player and prefer to working in an office environment which my company is not able to provide at the moment. The people that I work with are very nice but my management doesn't seem how to many the new product with good planning."
"Before the joint venture with Internet Brands, Martindale-Hubbell was a fun place to work. The products were sub-par, we charged more than the competition, and we had constant challenges with customer satisfaction. We were unified though. Banding together and bandaging customer solutions, we were able to overcome many of these obstacles to product a productive solution for the clients.Post joint-venture in November '13, it feels like a liquidation with poor communication on direction."
"I've worked for LexisNexis since 2008 and had the pleasure of meeting some great people who are very talented in the IT, Product, Marketing and User Experience areas."
"LexisNexis is a good company to work for. Working with the people has made it a great experience, the rest is probably average. The company is hungry and motivated enough, so it is not stuck by its own weight. I would consider working for LexisNexis again in the future if the opportunity arose. There are some issues with middle management, but nothing new at companies where middle management is created from promotional opportunities within the company."
"Good company to work with."
"I've worked for this company for almost 5 years. I enjoy my work there and am extremely impressed with all of my colleagues and the company's product.I do have some serious concerns about corporate leadership (or lack thereof). However, being one of only 2 major competitors in this space, we have been able to weather even the poorest of decision-making."
"I have worked at Lexis Nexis for a little over a year. The Ponte Vedra Beach location is a small office that primarily hosts support and sales for our product suite. We have a small local development team and are geographically distributed around the globe. We are a high performing team that is unfortunately out of the visibility of the corporate level organizations. Our products continuously out-perform its portfolio peers, making us a bargain for the organization."
"Strong company in transition. Good opportunity to manage innovative products."
"A frustrating decline in expectations, merit increases, and morale."
