Long Beach Mortgage, now known as Ameriquest Mortgage, was an Orange County, California-based wholesale lender of mortgage products. It was active until it was closed and sold off by ACC Capital Holdings to Citigroup. In 2004, Ameriquest had over an estimated $50 billion of the $587 billion subprime mortgage market.
The company was founded by Roland Arnall in 1979 as a thrift known as Long Beach Savings & Loan. It was later renamed Long Beach Mortgage in 1997. The company’s retail operation was later renamed to Ameriquest Capital and Long Beach Mortgage was sold off to Washington Mutual.
