"I've worked for the school board three years and It is a great positive environment to work in. However, it is capped in regards to salaries and a challenge for young employees to stay for a long period of time."
"Working for MDCPS has its ups and downs. On the one hand, I'm able to perform my job duties as best as possible. However, it is highly frustrating that myself (or the majority working here) are not rightfully compensated for the work we do day in and out."
"I've worked for WLRN since 2008, the company have 100 people, and is the PBS, TV and Radio for Miami Dade Public Schools.I start in the company in the field engineering department, Master Control , and in the IT department, I will continue in the web developer department in the conversion to response design, and get more experience CMS and stream contents, relate with the data base using html, CSS, JavaScript, Word Press, PHP, MySQL, Angular. In this area I can use some stuff of the .NET."
"Since being hired, I have experienced some of the worst treatment by my own coworkers and administrators as well. Coming into the present school-year, we were told (as well as the public) that ALL buses would be equipped with A/C. That only lasted for the first week. And if you reside on Miami, then you know that it is sticky, humid and to drive a bus load (50+) students with no A/C and the heat of the engine is beating up your body because you are literally sitting on it. The salary is $15k."
"I've been working here for close to 10 years. While it is a good organization to work for in terms of benefits, you will never be adequately compensated for your skill set."
"I have worked with MDCPS since 1998 and have seen many changes through the years. While some have been less than stellar for faculty and staff, some have seen improvements in pay, working conditions and/or both. Like any large government institution, bureaucracy is rampant and sometimes the simplest of tasks are monumental in the comparison to the time in which they would've been accomplished in the private-sector."
