"It became too lonely to continue working here when everyone left and new ones came in. Because of the high turnover, people come and go, so I always had to go back to square one and assist new hires and make sure they're all set up for success. It wasn't my job to do that but I had to or else, everything will fall apart."
"Old and beat up machines If you look this place up on social media do not be fooled by the images. Those pretty walls were filled with tired, crashed, beat up, old and unreliable machines/furniture. Better keep them clean and shiny though, or ownership would come and talk to you like a child and company there's some dirt on them."
"Very poor tempered CEO Very poor tempered CEO - Tony. You will be degraded and yelled at and attacked down upon. The turnover rate is rapid with even the longest tern employee departing the company recently. Best of luck if you decide to work here."
"No focus by the CEO... I'd swear that Nero had been reincarnated. Treats young women horribly... no respect. Lots of quality people and most of the senior managers are excellent. CEO drags them down. His ego is unbelievable... barely fits through a door."
"Great Family Company To Start Out With"
What do you like about working at Microtech Computers?
"The company itself had a lot of benefits and perks. I like the job security, and the fact that my voice was heard and my opinions mattered. When I thought something was wrong with the software, or something needed improvements, I could speak up and I could see how my voice made significant improvements to the company's software."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Just come in with a positive attitude. Microtech won't BS you around and won't play games with you like many other large companies will. They're a great social family company and they have a great product. They can really shine if they could take a few more unsafe risks, but if you're looking to get in, just talk like a normal human being and don't try to overcompensate for what you're worth. Microtech hires people, not numbers."
What don't you like about working at Microtech Computers?
"The company leaves no room for growth. It's hard to get paid a higher salary, and the leaders have a hard time saying no to unreasonable offers which often leaves us in a pickle with release dates. The 'it's done when it's done' attitude generally leads to last minute bug fixes without much planning."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"They really need to grow the company in a direction rather than just rely on one or two big customers to keep them alive. They really have to look at why their competitors do better than them rather than always playing it safe. While the company is an expert at staying alive during the worst recessions, when the economy is good, they need to take the appropriate risks to really shine. You get 'nothing for nothing' as my father always says."
