"Pearl River Mart is a mom and pop establishment that was founded in the 1970s. It started as a 'friendship' store, where its mission is to be a bridge connecting the Asian community to broader audiences/customers living in New York City. Since its inception and years of operation, it has become an NYC institution, where it has become the go-to retail store for all Asian items - ceramics, clothing, snacks, and other retail items. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic our food hall construction and our retail world have turned upside down. Though my time at Pearl River Mart has been short-lived, the overall experiences and connections that I've made have beneficial."
