"The job is great, other than the wages. I work in Asheville (AVL), which is the most expensive city to live in NC, where the median rent for a 2 bedroom is $1770 and the starting pay with Piedmont Airlines in Asheville is under $12 an hour. I've been with the company for almost a decade and am just now making a little over $15. The gas station down the street starts at $16 and all the fast food places here start well over what Piedmont Airlines in Asheville starts at. The job is physically demanding, a dangerous and hazardous environment, and is security sensitive and yet the company doesn't feel the need to raise our wages here, when we are one of the highest performing stations within the company. Piedmont Airlines only pays the supervisors $2 more an hour and their raises have been frozen for 2 years."
