"I worked may area within the Commonwealth of Virginia. In every place I would answer these questions differently. This answer is an overall evaluation of my state jobs. I generally enjoyed working for the state and would return to a job within the state if conditions arived."

"The salaries and the opportunities were limited. I became tired of working in a prison environment."

"If acceptance and diversity are important to you then working for the head of the 0-5 department may not be suitable for you."

"Dr. Joan Baran's homophobic beliefs influenced the decisions she made as a professional. Unfortunately she was unable to keep her personal beliefs/opinions separate from her professional ones."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Training on diversity within the work place that extends beyond cultural diversity but also age, gender and sexual orientation."

What do you like about working at Memorial Hermann Hospital?

"The work done with clients here with brain injury is very challenging and rewarding. In addition, the staff uses a multidisciplinary approach and works very well together. Overall, it is a positive environment to work in."

"Emphasize your need and desire to work as part of a team."

What don't you like about working at Memorial Hermann Hospital?

"The business side is a bit ugly. There is constant pressure to produce and work billable hours with little flexibility. Sometimes I feel quality suffers due to the emphasis on revenue."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be more open to staff ideas and become more flexibile."
