Manager

"I worked at Rite Aid for about 4 years as a manager, while also working for my friend's family company for 5 years off and on. I've had plenty of experience with pay per view accounts through my friend's company, but would always like to get more experience with a company that is a little more established. As much as I enjoy customer service, I am not a huge fan of working as a glorified babysitter (a.k.a. retail management) and would rather work in my desired career path on a more permanent basis."

"Worked here for over a year. Shift manager smokes pot outside of the store. Store manager plays favorites. Low pay, lots of drama. The customers are pretty nice.I like our pharmacy staff since they are all so outgoing. Only real problem is at the store level. Most employees at this location are miserable and suffer from low morale. Two managers are always picking on the one shift manager and he is the ONLY one who seems to genuinely care about keeping morale up. If it wasn't for him, I'd quit."

"For what I contribute and what I deal with on a daily basis I believe I deserve a better pay rate. I love what I do and I love the interaction with the customers and my fellow employee's. If I had a chance to be a store manager I would not be looking for other employment, I have been with Rite Aid for seven years."

Pharmacy Intern

What do you like about working at Rite Aid?

"I had a chance to learn what it's like to be a pharmacist in retail setting, and my supervisor supported and taught me every chance he got!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be honest, do your research, respect the interviewer... you should do this for any interview, really."

What don't you like about working at Rite Aid?

"I understand it's a retail store, but I sometimes felt like the district and higher-level managers focused more on the retail part and less on the pharmacy part. The pharmacy was staffed with less people than truly necessary during the rush hours at times, which made working there feel like a hassle instead of a job."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Promote more pharmacists to management positions, or have crash courses for managers so that they understand how pharmacy department functions. This is, after all, a pharmacy chain."

Pharmacy Technician

"It was mostly good, but the bad was bad enough that I will not go back."

What do you like about working at Rite Aid?

"The pharmacy team had great personality, the manager genuinely cared for the team."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's a pretty relaxed environment, but they do mainly look for candidates with experience when hiring for the pharmacy, expect to be offered only part time work and be stuck with that for several years."

What don't you like about working at Rite Aid?

"The store manager is a horrible control freak, stepping into the pharmacy when he had no idea what really went on; he is not a team player and tries to rule with fear."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Better communication between pharmacy and store management so the pharmacy can better focus on their tasks for their department."

What do you like about working at Rite Aid?

"I like that it is a fast paced environment, and there is always something to do."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

District Manager

What do you like about working at Rite Aid?

"There is no sense of team with you field staff. Everyone seems to be on different pages all of the time and they are all out for themselves and their own growth."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would not look for a career at Rite Aid as there is no direct process like other organizations follow."

What don't you like about working at Rite Aid?

"I loved the training sessions that were put on from the training department once a month and the guidance that I would receive from my direct leader."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Build a different foundation of field management. There are too many chiefs, there should be one leader over the store, not a PDM, HRM and LPM. CVS has this right making the District Manager manage them as well."
