84 Sales Associates from Ritz Camera & Image submitted salaries.
Ritz Camera & Image is a company that specializes in photographic products and services. The company was founded in 1918 and currently operates 137 retail locations in the United States under various names, such as Boaters World, PROEX, Inkley's and Wolf Camera. The company began as a portrait studio and was founded by Benjamin Ritz. The first Ritz film processing lab was opened in 1936. Ritz Camera & Image acquired Wolf Camera out of bankruptcy in 2001, which brought their total number of retail locations to over 1,200. However, due to changes in the photographic industry, such as the decline in popularity of film photography and poor economic conditions, the company had to close many of its locations, filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection in 2009.
Ritz Camera & Image is currently headquartered in Beltsville, Maryland and was the first photo finishing chain to offer customers 4x6 prints. In 2003, the company introduced a website where customers could upload their photos and have them printed in a store within an hour.
At its peak, Ritz Camera & Image had over 10,000 employees around the nation. However, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection a second time in 2012 and is currently under liquidation. It is expected that the majority of its remaining stores around the nation will close, while others may be acquired by C&A Marketing, a camera distribution firm based in New Jersey. A few other stores may be acquired by Cardinal Camera.
Director of Infrastructure is the highest paying job at Ritz Camera & Image at $139,000 annually.
