"Be flexible, and show a commitment to change management and continuous improvement."

"The supply chain is undergoing a lot of change which is resulting in plant closures and layoffs."

"Continue to focus on lean enterprise management."

"The exposure to the multiple lines of business and opportunity to meet with upper management is great. The benefits are great and there are employee discounts available on Sara Lee Products, Hanes, and Coach products."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Internal Audit is looking for individuals that can communicate well and are confident. Individuals that plan well are organized and communicate effectively during the engagement. Let the interviewer know that you work well with upper management and that you discuss potential issues real time and do not wait until the end of an engagement. The key is that you partner with management during audits not just perform procedures. Stay calm and think through your responses. Be prepared to give a real example to back up your statements."

What don't you like about working at Sara Lee?

"Due to the downturn the culture has changed to a very high cost containment structure. The change has caused spending to increase employee moral (corportate functions) to be non-existent. There have been multiple changes in the internal audit department methodolgy that have not been properly rolled out which has caused confusion within the department. Layoffs occur without adequate notification to employees in line of business functions which has caused a negative work environment as employees appear on edge."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Roll out training for internal audit new methodology as soon as possible. Ensure that tools are adequately in place for employees to accomplish goals and expectations without strenuous and long hours."
