"I liked that I had a lot of control over how I did my job. I did not like the fact that when there was a slow down, there was not not enough work for people in this position."
"My career path has not deviated. I have done mechanical design and mechanical architectural work for the past 22 years. I typically do 2 times as much modeling in the same space of time as others to because of my advantage of using programmed keyboard macros within Pro/Engineer the MCAD system I use. I am and expert in top down design methodology and try fervently to bring down material and manufacturing costs as much as possible. I believe most people have a comfort zone which they like to stay in. I prefer and am up for new challenges."
"My particular position is a stepping stone to Staff Engineer, and it's been frustrating for me at times making that leap. I don't think management is stifling it more than I have not had the opportunity in my current position to do anything that would help me advance."
"There's nothing I hate about being a MTS. I like it a lot."
"I would recommend this workplace."
"Very challenging work, with extremely good pay and benefits."
"Apart from the line of work, the work/life balance was exceptional. I believe we feel the need to sacrifice family time for work. I loved the flexibility. Ability to get the work done with flexibility was what I loved the most."
"I like to be an SMTS since an SMTS interfaces between technical position and management. My strengths are my technical capabilities. As an MTS you are responsible for labs development, planning, integration, conduction proof-of-concepts (POC), develop strategies, test plans, build teams and resolve defects. It is really a hands-on job . I don't like too many meetings but love challenges. ."
