A site manager is in charge of overseeing services and managing staff at customer site locations. On a typical day, a site manager may handle hiring and training of staff as well as resolving issues that may occur at a work site.
Skillset: Site managers must have excellent customer service and management skills. They must also be well organized and able to efficiently adapt to new working environments. Strong communication skills are also required as they will be constantly giving orders to staff and working with customers.
Education: Many site managers have a bachelor’s degree in a field related to their industry. Find an industry to focus on and apply efforts towards that field of study. Experience as a supervisor is also highly desired.
Career Path: There are a variety of industries that require a site manager. Generally they must have a strong grasp of customer service, supervisory, and management skills. Pursue a bachelor’s degree in a desired industry and consider getting a master’s degree to increase desirability. Internships are also a great way to increase experience and build up a resume.
